Your figures never leave your browser

The rent-versus-buy model on this site runs entirely inside your own browser. The prices, rents, rates, and any other numbers you enter are never transmitted to this site, never stored, and never logged. They exist only in the tab you typed them into, and closing it discards them.

This is a property of how the site is built, not a promise about how we behave: there is no server-side calculator to send them to.

Analytics

This site runs no analytics script. No cookies are set for analytics, no client-side storage is used, and visitors are not fingerprinted or profiled.

Server logs

The hosting provider records standard request logs, which may include IP address, browser user-agent, and the pages requested. These are used for security and reliability, and are retained by the host under its own policy.

Advertising and cookies

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and review how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com.

Consent, and changing your mind

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before any personalised advertising is served.

You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the Privacy settings link in the footer of any page. That link appears only where a consent choice applies to you.

California residents

Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Personalised advertising may constitute sharing under those laws. You can opt out via the Privacy settings link in the footer, and via Google’s Ads Settings linked above. This site does not sell personal information for money.

Other jurisdictions

Wherever you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Requests can be sent to the address below.

Children

This site is aimed at adults making housing decisions and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them.

This site currently carries no affiliate or referral links. If that changes, the relationship will be disclosed here and clearly at the point of each link, as required by the FTC.
